Formula and method

Apply each commission structure to the same conversions and order value. Difference = B − A. Earnings percentage difference = (B earnings − A earnings) ÷ A earnings × 100. Effective rate = commission per conversion ÷ order value × 100.

Worked example

At 15 sales and £100 per order, Scenario A at 10% earns £150 and Scenario B at £12 per sale earns £180. B is £30 or 20% higher; effective commission differs by 2 percentage points.

How to interpret your results

This isolates the payment structure using identical sales assumptions. It is not a recommendation: approval rules, attribution and audience fit are outside the calculation. Use Decision Engine to vary the wider funnel and costs.

Assumptions and edge cases

Both scenarios use the same currency, eligible sales and order value. Earnings percentage difference is relative to A and is undefined when A earns zero. Effective-rate differences are percentage points, not percentage growth.

Frequently asked questions

Why not choose the higher commission automatically?

The calculation does not know eligibility, refund rates or whether your audience converts. It compares the terms you entered without rating a programme.
